| Overview: | The objectives of this project are to characterize the performance of multimedia applications on systems with Intel Pentium II and III processors and to evaluate the effectiveness of the multimedia instruction set extensions. Both classes of studied Intel processors are equipped with the MMX extension while the Pentium III also includes the Internet Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSE). The characterization is to be done using commercial applications. |
